Rejuvenating Peel Treatments (PCA)
Stop using any Retinol or strong AHA's for up to one week before peel. PCA Peels self neutralize and will remain on skin all day or until the next morning and washed off. Skin will peel on 2nd day for 3-5 days.
Some darker skin types or deeper melasma clients may need to have their skin prepped for up to 2 weeks prior for a medium or acne peel.
TYPES OF PEELS USED:
Superficial Chemical Peels are the mildest of chemical peels that can be used on all skin types.
Glycolic acid, Lactic acid and Salicylic acid is typically used to improve rough, dry skin or
uneven pigmentation. These light chemical peels can also aid in the improvement
of mild acne and sun damage to skin. Multiple treatments may be needed. Minimal to no peeling, used to accelerate any facial treatment or microdermabrasion.
Medium Chemical Peels are ideal for patients who have fine lines and wrinkles, or uneven pigmentation. This type of chemical peel uses (TCA) trichloroacetic acid and can be used on most any part of the body. Skin will peel on 2nd day for 3-5 days.
Acne Chemical Peels can
help smooth acne scars caused by severe acne. The peel used is a Jessner's peel or Modified Jessner's which uses a 14% blend of Lactic and Salicylic acid, with hydroquione and/or rescorcinol (peeling agent and infection fighter). The acid used in this type of
chemical peel will depend on the condition of the patient’s skin. Acne chemical
peels may also improve wrinkles and skin pigmentation. Skin will peel on 2nd day for 3-5 days.
